Buckeye is a small rural community located 24 miles southwest of downtown Phoenix. More than 68,000 people live in Buckeye and the city is perhaps most popular for providing its residents with ample camping and hiking amenities. Buckeye is considered one of the fastest-growing communities in the country.

Buckeye came to be after European settlers took up residence in the area around 1887. That town was originally known as “Sidney” but was later renamed Buckeye because of the nearby Buckeye Canal. The area established its first post office in 1888 and the town was officially incorporated in 1929.

The center is has a 160-foot circular pool slide, a ten-foot-high diving board, and a zero-depth swimming pool for young children. Buckeye is also a popular place to go skydiving.
